Airbrush Art

If you want to have success in the airbrush art field you should understand as much about the process as you can. Basically, airbrush art refers to the air-operated spray tool that uses ink, dye or paint to produce the image. The equipment uses oxygen or compressed air to break up the liquid (paint) into small droplets.

Early airbrushes were used with watercolor paint. The airbrush art technique was refined and used by serious artists in the United States. The airbrush art technique is described in the encyclopedia as: An airbrush works by passing a stream of fast moving (compressed) air through a venturi, which creates a local reduction in air pressure (suction) that allows paint to be pulled up from an interconnected reservoir at normal atmospheric pressure. The high velocity of the air atomizes the paint into very tiny droplets as it blows past a very fine paint-metering component. The paint is carried onto paper or other surface.(Wikipedia)

If you are thinking about airbrush art on T-shirts and sweatshirts or think you might want to start an airbrush tattoo business consider this: One of the key features of the airbrush art technique is the capability of blending multiple colors and moving gradually from one color to another while creating the image.

Small and medium-size systems are used for display art, wall art, tattoo creation and custom T-shirt images. The airbrush art technology allows fine retouching, color blending and detail work that is not generally possible with conventional painting techniques.

Airbrush art has been a great business for many individuals, both part-time and full-time entrepreneurs. With some careful study before you start and with the right equipment you can enter the challenging and exciting world of airbrush art.
