Airbrush Tanning

Airbrush tanning is similar to airbrushing nails in that both are ways of enhancing your appearance or the appearance of your customers. The difference between the two processes is obvious. Nail airbrush art  is done on a very small scale, with stencils and attention to detail. Airbrush tanning is a process with a larger “canvas.”

These two types of airbrushing do have one other requirement in common: You should only use quality equipment to ensure that your results are more than satisfactory. When you are thinking about airbrush tanning for yourself or for customers the process of airbrushing instead of using creams, lotions and hand-applied color offers a more complete and consistent tan.

One of the primary reasons for using airbrush tanning process involves time. Many people want a consistent tan but don’t have time to work on their tan in the sun or in a tanning salon. The best airbrush tanning processes are safe and give you a natural-looking tan in a short time.

There have been some health concerns with the idea of airbrush tanning. If you or a customer has concerns of this type it might be wise to talk with a physician first (especially for women who are pregnant or nursing). But it seems that the ingredients used for airbrush tanning don’t cause health problems. This method only penetrates the outer layer of skin.

To get ready for an airbrush tanning you should shower and exfoliate the skin to provide a smooth, consistent surface. Make sure there are no oils or lotions anywhere where you will be tanning. Swim wear is suggested for the tanning process. You should wear loose-fitting clothes after the airbrush tanning. Quality airbrush tans will not wash off but the tan will fade in time (usually about a week).
